Following the groundbreaking RoboMaster S1, the RoboMaster EP (EP Core)* takes learning to the next level. This educational robot offers programming and AI to any classroom. It also brings the official DJI Software Development Kit (SDK), expandable software and hardware, a custom curriculum, and the all-new RoboMaster Youth Tournament. Simply put, the RoboMaster EP is an unrivaled educational tool for students and educators.

The Robomaster EP and Robomaster EP Core is identical except

  1. The Robomaster EP includes the Blaster, Gimbal and Bottled Gel Beads.
  2. The Robomaster EP Core is a striped down version of the Robomaster EP and does not include the Blaster, Gimbal and Bottled Gel Beads.

Gripper

The Gripper transforms the EP into a powerful chassis with multiple functions. A convenient structural design and adjustable gripping force empower it to firmly and reliably grasp and move objects of various shapes, weights, and sizes.
 

Robotic Arm

The EP’s Robotic Arm is incredibly durable, yet compact and flexible. It supports precise FPV control, allowing students to complete tasks even when the target objects are out of sight.

Sensor Adaptor & Power Connector Module

Each sensor adaptor has two sensor ports and provides power supply. A power connector module can connect and power third-party hardware, offering multiple ports to connect hardware and create custom programs and applications.
 

Infrared Distance Sensor

With a measurement range of 0.1-10 meters, the infrared distance sensor accurately measures within a 5% margin of error. The addition of programmable modules in Scratch also provides reliable distance measurement information. This enables the EP to sense its environment and avoid obstacles, deepening students’ understanding of advanced autonomous driving principles.

Open DJI SDK

Endless programming possibilities are unlocked when you use SDKs (software development kits). Open DJI SDK is available on the RoboMaster EP and supports more than 50 programmable sensor ports. This allows students to utilize streaming data from sensor modules, video, and audio to program AI applications and experience genuine AI technology.

Video & Audio Streaming Data

HD video and audio streaming data and stabilized images bring higher recognition accuracy. In-depth learning projects and features such as data analysis, model training, scene recognition, and custom AI functions can be achieved with third-party platforms.

Attitude Data

Code flexibly with attitude data collected from gyroscopes on the chassis and gimbal.

Connect multiple EPs to one computer to realize swarm movements through multi-machine communication

ToF Distance Measurement Information

Distance measurement information provided by the Infrared Distance Sensor helps achieve intelligent obstacle avoidance and precise multi-machine communication for autonomous driving.

Compatible Third-Party Hardware

The RoboMaster EP supports third-party open-source hardware such as Micro:bit, Arduino, and Raspberry Pi. These items can be connected and powered via serial ports on the main controller of the chassis.

The EP can also perform model training and scene recognition through AI platforms such as NVIDIA Jetson Nano and the official DJI SDK, enhancing students’ understandings of the operating principles of AI.

Compatible with Third-Party Sensors

The RoboMaster EP is equipped with four sensor adaptors, making it convenient to connect and power third-party sensors that measure inputs such as temperature, pressure, distance, and more.

Sensory data can even be used in Scratch, unlocking endless programming possibilities.

New Scratch Programming Blocks

New scratch programming blocks have been added to the RoboMaster app’s Lab section that were designed to help users obtain and utilize sensory data. With these blocks, users can quickly access and control the Sensor Adaptor, Robotic Arm, Gripper, Infrared Launcher, Infrared Depth Sensor, and third-party open-source hardware.

Multiple Platform Support and Two Programming Languages

The RoboMaster app is compatible with the RoboMaster EP and multiple operating systems, including iOS, Android, Windows, and Mac, making it the perfect tool for a wide range of teaching scenarios. The EP supports two programming languages, Scratch 3.0 and Python 3.6, delivering the fun of programming to beginners and experts alike.

User Cases
  • Use the TOF module and vision sensor to enable functions such as motion sensing, tracking, obstacle avoidance, and more.
  • Take advantage of the Arduino, voice recognition module and other components by programming the EP to follow voice commands. Have the EP dance, automatically follow a subject, turn home appliances on and off, and much more.

Professional Curriculum for Practice and Exploration

The RoboMaster AI and Robotics curriculum perfectly incorporates theories intro practical engineering projects, utilizing subjects such as physics and mathematics. It stimulates students’ interests to learn, encouraging them to be creative and explore without limits.

 

Auto Driving and Obstacle Avoidance

The EP senses the distance between itself and surrounding obstacles and automatically avoid them during line following or other programmed movements.

 

Power Rune Striking

By recognizing Vison Markers with vision sensors, the EP automatically determines the order of number values and adjust its gimbal attitude to execute precise hits on the Power Rune.

 

Automatic Grabbing

The Robotic Arm and Gripper can be programmed to precisely grab gel bead containers placed at specified positions.
